Theragun mini Gen 1 & Theragun mini Gen 2

Theragun mini 1st Gen vs Theragun mini 2nd Gen

The latest addition to Therabody's massage devices lineup is here. If you're familiar with their collection, you probably know about the Theragun mini 2nd Generation, which was launched in late 2022. Now it is officially available in Singapore, online and in retail.

Let's compare the Theragun mini 1st Generation and 2nd Generation, and see what are the upgrades.

1. Design

Visually, both the Theragun mini 1st Generation and 2nd Generation has the same ergonomic triangle shape and grip, which is a unique factor in Therabody's massage devices.

One of the main difference is that the Theragun mini 2nd Generation is now 20% smaller and 30% lighter. Which means it is more portable than ever and is easier to grip when you are doing your routines.

The Theragun mini 2nd Generation also comes with 2 additional attachments as compared to the 1 attachment for 1st Generation. Making it more versatile for massages on different areas and uses.

You would also save on buying additional attachments especially if it's your very first Theragun, if you do the math.

2. Power

Both the 1st Generation and 2nd Generation has the same 12mm amplitude, 20 lbs force and 3 speed settings. So you will still get the same Theragun experience.

However, the Theragun mini 2nd Generation now has bluetooth connectivity so you can connect to the Therabody app. A great plus point as the app has many different guided routines for warm-ups and recovery.

3. Battery

The Theragun mini 1st Generation has a total battery life of 150 minutes while the Theragun mini 2nd Generation has 120 minutes. It is likely the decrease in size and weight factor into the total battery life.

However, the Theragun mini 2nd Generation comes with the all-new fast USB-C charging, so you won't need to worry about missing out on your recovery routine.

Final Thoughts

Despite having similar specifications, the Theragun mini 2nd Generation is certainly a good choice if you are looking for an ultra-portable massage device for when you are going to the gym or travelling.

You can purchase the Theragun mini 2nd Generation here, now available in Black and Desert Rose.
